Berlin-based studio monitor manufacturer EVE Audio today celebrate their 10th anniversary, and we take a look back at their history and highlight the content we've created over the years.
Although EVE seem to be new, EVE Audio’s founder and CEO, Roland Stenz is no stranger to the industry. Loaded with wealth of knowledge and more than 25 years of experience in pro audio and electro acoustic design, Stenz’s passion for music as a classical musician and his aim to bring the best possible products to the market were reason enough to found EVE Audio - and a complete range of studio monitors consisting in 2-way, 3-way and 4-way monitors, as well as an entire range of subwoofers.
All EVE products are outfitted with on-board DSP technology, and EVE were at the very forefront and the first studio monitor manufacturer in the world to completely rely on inbuilt DSP - a technology that has now been adopted by all major manufacturers.
EVE and Stenz are also proponents of the Air Motion Transformer technology that was originally developed by Oskar Heil in the early 1970’s. This type of driver in which a folded diaphragm works in a powerful magnetic field has been utilised by some other manufacturers and has been further developed by Stenz, designing a large Air Motion Transformer that is unique to the main monitors from EVE Audio and a very small μAMT that is exclusively used in the desktop loudspeaker SC203.
One feature all studio monitors from EVE Audio have in common is the very comfortable one push knob operation, easy to access from the front of the monitors using the SMART-Knob. Ongoing research and development has brought new products to the market such as a desktop loudspeaker solution SC203 and main monitors to complete the product portfolio. First mentioned won the Innovator Award from Japanese Rock oN magazine.
EVE’s latest innovation is a very compact 3-way system SC3070. EVE Audio celebrates the 10th anniversary with a further developed 4-way monitoring system called SC4070. Many more and other projects are to come. Since the company was founded, EVE Audio has been able to establish a worldwide distribution network.
Within a remarkably short period, the company has gone from nothing to manufacturing a complete line of professional monitors, sold globally through partners in more than 60 countries.
