In this video Mike Aiton reviews Slapper, a new multi-tap stereo & multi-channel delay plug-in by our friends at Cargo Cult.
Slapper is a multi-tap surround delay with a stunningly intuitive interface, fantastic console integration and some freakish sound design potential.
You can make anything from an attic to a canyon... from a simple vocal slap to insanely complex syncopated grooves - and you'll do this quickly, and precisely, and with a big smile on your face.
Slapper's interface is so intuitive, so ergonomically tuned, that it really is a joy to use. Whatever you do with it, it's always going to look exactly like it sounds.
There is a lot of confusion about the difference between conforming and re-conforming in audio post-production. Community member Toby Campen got in touch and asked us to look at the thorny issue of conforming and re-conforming sessions in Pro Tools. In this article, we set out to answer the question “What Is Re-Conforming?” We look at the 4 major tools for re-conforming and our Expert Panel, tell us which one they prefer.
Picture Cut Tracks are an excellent tool in audio post-production to help show scene boundaries. When used effectively, cut tracks speed up and greatly improve the accuracy of editing. They also come in very handy during the premix and mix stages. In this article, we will show how to use three different software re-conforming tools to create a picture cut track: Virtual Katy, EdiLoad and Matchbox.
We all know that ‘picture-lock’ is a thing of the past. The Cargo Cult have been busy developing a new way of handling those pesky changes that come through at the last minute, usually without all the information you need that means you have to rebuild your project to make sure it matches every one of the changes. Matchbox has been designed to streamline this process. We have the details…
Two of our favourite brands - The Cargo Cult (Spanner, Slapper, Conformalizer) and Non-Lethal Applications (Video Slave) have simultaneously released major updates - Video Slave 3.3 and Spanner 3, bringing pan information display and new Pro Tools import options in Video Slave and 3D panning in a completely rebuilt Spanner plug-in.
Back in February 2017 we asked if you worked in post production and find that you have to re-conform your audio edit and mix because of picture changes would you help our friends at The Cargo Cult in completing a short survey.
If you would in post production and find that you have to re-conform your audio edit and mix because of picture changes then our friends at The Cargo Cult would like your help in completing a short survey.
We announced the new version of Conformalizer from The Cargo Cult with the Video Compare feature, which could be an answer to prayer for so many audio post production professionals. Why, because of the challenge of asking, and more importantly getting, 2 video EDLs or a Change list to enable us to re-conform our audio edit and mix to the new picture cut. Being able to create a change list by comparing two video files could be a gift. So how well does it work?
Our friends at The Cargo Cult have just released a major update to their audio post production tool Conformalizer.
Our friends at The Cargo Cult have informed us that Pro Tools 12.5 causes loss of automation data with Spanner and Slapper plug-ins. They have also made us aware that this bug can also be an issue with other third party plug-ins.
Our friends at The Cargo Cult have released Slapper 1.5. Slapper 1.5 now includes support for Windows, AU, VST and VST3 in addition to the Mac/AAX platform supported by v1.0.
