What Happens At The End Of The Year After I Activate My Upgrade?
You'll have the option to renew your Software Updates + Support Plan while it is active to add another year of software releases, bonus plug-ins and support. This Upgrade provides a perpetual (non-expiring) license, so if you do not renew you can continue to run the versions provided up through the end of your Plan, but will not be able to run versions released beyond that or use some of the bonus plug-ins provided.
FAQ
What is a 1-Year Upgrade with Software Updates + Support Plan?
A 1-Year Upgrade with Software Updates + Support Plan enables customers to upgrade their older perpetual Pro Tools or Sibelius license to the latest version and get access to the latest releases, plugins, and more for one year. These 1-Year Upgrades are available for a limited time only.
How long will the 1-Year Upgrade with Software Updates + Support Plan be available?
1-year Upgrades will be available for purchase from Avid through December 31, 2021, but there is no deadline to activate the upgrade (i.e., a purchased 1-year Upgrade code can be applied in future)—1-Year Upgrades do not expire.
What 1-Year Upgrade with Software Updates + Support Plans are available and what versions of Pro Tools and Sibelius can be updated?
Upgrades can be used for the following versions of Pro Tools and Sibelius (note that any Software Updates + Support Plan included with more recent versions should be expired):
Pro Tools 9 or later
Pro Tools | HD/Ultimate 9 or later
Sibelius, Sibelius First 5–7 (previous paid version), Sibelius Student, Sibelius G7, or Sibelius Instrumental Teacher Edition
Sibelius | Ultimate or Sibelius 5–8
Although any of the versions above can be upgraded via an upgrade purchased through a reseller, only licenses listed in a MyAvid account can be upgraded directly from Avid. For example, Pro Tools 9 and 10 and Sibelius 7.5 and earlier releases were both pre-MyAvid and can only be upgraded via an upgrade purchased through a reseller.
How do I purchase a 1-Year Upgrade with Software Updates + Support Plan?
Customers can purchase Pro Tools and Sibelius 1-Year Upgrades directly from Avid or from their preferred Avid reseller—with the caveat that only licenses registered in a MyAvid account can be upgraded directly from Avid, while Upgrades purchased through a reseller can be applied to all eligible SKUs.
